| Answer: The Department will be providing the C.E.M. oversight for the UST removals, including environmental oversight during tank removal, soil sampling, laboratory testings, and preparation of the closure report. A Special Inspector will be provided by the Department to perform the required C.E.M. oversight services.
The soil sampling methodology will be determined by the C.E.M. based on field conditions and applicable NDEP requirements at the time of tank removal. The Contractor should assume that the C.E.M. will direct the sampling locations and procedures necessary to satisfy the regulatory closure requirements. |

| Answer: The bollard penetrations through the geogrid are acceptable and are not anticipated to adversely affect the performance of the geogrid reinforcement.
At each bollard location, the geogrid should be neatly cut to accommodate the bollard penetration. Care should be taken to make clean cuts and avoid unnecessary disturbance or tearing of the surrounding geogrid during installation. |

Are the existing conduits running from the electrical control room to the existing pull box at the fuel station location intended to be re used or is a new 2 conduit trench per detail CC-E0.3 to be placed requiring additional saw cut and patch back? If there is existing to be reused, is there any added electrical demo scope to remove existing conductors? |
| Answer: The existing conduit systems to the existing fuel station were not previously verified to be in good condition for reuse. The bid should assume that the existing conduit will be reused.
Existing conductors and cabling will need to be removed from those existing underground raceways. |
