13 | 4 | Special Details - Sheet SD 2 & NDOT Typical pay items | 07/16/2024 05:41 AM | Q&D Construction | Response Published |
|
Question: On SD 2 There is a detail for a Type 3 Modified Curb, which does not appear to match the Type 3 Modified curb on SD1. On SD 2 there is a Type 5 Modified Curb, which has a 5-ft gutter pan. I do not see a pay item for this nor a location called out in the plans. Just confirming that is correct. There is a "Type F Modified Ramp", typically there is a pay item for "Ramp" concrete, if there is an associated pedestrian ramps. At the Temporary AC Path it calls for a "Sidewalk Underdrain" Can you please provide a detail for these? There are a lot of other items in these plans that are typically paid by other pay items but are not clearly spelled out in these plans. How will they be handled. |
Answer: The curb drawn on SD1 is only for reference and at an exaggerated scale, as the detail on SD1 is for the truck apron and roundabout configuration. Please build Type 3 Modified curb per the detail provided on SD2. Type 5 (modified curb) will be taken out and replaced with type Type 7 curb. All concrete for ramps for this project were quantified using Bid Item 613 1140 “Class AA Concrete Sidewalk (4-inch)”. the Type F Modified ramp should have been called out on keynote 5 on plan sheet 5. Although “Sidewalk Underdrain” is to be constructed within the AC temp path, the contractor is to use NDOT standard detail DS-46 “Sidewalk Under Drain” for construction of under drain. Please clarify Which items you are referring to. A supplemental will be issued to address the sheet modifications. |

14 | 5 | Surplus Roadway Excavation | 07/18/2024 05:40 AM | Q&D Construction | Response Published |
|
Question: It appears there is approximately 19,000 Cubic Yards of Surplus Roadway Excavation materials. It says to use the surplus material to widen embankments, flatten slopes, or place it at other approved locations and to not dispose of it until approved in writing. Currently the plans have no direction of what to do with the surplus materials so it should be assumed that it would be to remain onsite. If the intent is to dispose this materials please provide a quantity. This is most likely a substantial cost due to the location of the project. |
Answer: Surplus Material shall be disposed of per 107.14. |
