| Answer: TG-12 is for pull box installations where a heavy lid (cover) is installed. Otherwise, TG-14 shall be used. No pull box should be installed under sidewalk. All lids should be accessible. |

| Question: Concerning bid items 623 0225 through 623 0241, a Pull Box Schedule for each traffic signal is provided indicating if the pull boxes should have locking lids, heavy lids, and/or be buried; however, a similar schedule is not provided for the pull boxes not located near traffic signals. Also, a number of boxes are shown to require locking lids but having a locking lid on a box in a sidewalk would create a tripping hazard. Please advise for all pull boxes if each will require locking lids, heavy lids and/or be buried. |
| Answer: For the pull boxes not located near traffic signals, they are identified in the roadway plan sheets and quantified in their structure list; For pull boxes requiring locking lids, an addendum will be issued to incorporate the necessary modifications. |

| Question: Concerning bid item 623 3030, The Structure List on Sheet LT24 shows CCTV Cameras (PTZ) at the Spring Mountain (Sheet T19) and Oakey (Sheet T22) intersections; however there is no direction in the plans at these intersections for CCTV Cameras (PTZ). There are 5 signals in the plans that call for a removal and reset of CCTV cameras, but there is not a bid item for remove and reset CCTV. Please advise on the correct quantity of new CCTV Cameras (PTZ) and where they are to be installed on the plans for bid item 623 3030. Please also advise under which bid item the remove and reset CCTV cameras should be paid or if a new bid item should be created for that. |
| Answer: Bid item 6233030 should not be included in the structure list; Per note 8 of the Removal Sheet (T01 – T14), remove and reset CCTV camera should be paid under bid item 6231515 Remove and Reset Surveillance Camera. An addendum will be issued to incorporate the necessary modifications. |

| Question: on the original bid these items were bid as PVC sch 40 conduit, will that be the same on this? |
| Answer: NDOT Project 4539-READV Special Provisions on Subsection 623.02.16 on page 75 states:
"All Buried plastic conduits must be HDPE with a wall thickness of SDR11 or thicker (lower SDR indicates a thicker wall). For short conduit runs of 10 feet or shorter, and if HDPE conduit is impractical to install, PVC conduit will be allowed as long as the lateral distance of the conduit does not exceed 10 feet. PVC conduit is not permitted elsewhere unless otherwise noted in the contract documents.
Unless specifically noted in the contract documents, all pull-in plastic conduit installed into a larger metal sleeve (i.e., across a bridge deck) shall be HDPE with a wall thickness of TSDIR-11.5. PVC conduit is not allowed unless otherwise noted in the contract documents."
Schedule sheets specify 2" and 3" plastic conduit [HDPE]. |

| Answer: Bid item 2020185 is to cover the work for removing the existing bus structure. This contract will rebuild the new bus shelter concrete foundation only and then RTC will install the new slimline bus shelter structure. |

| Question: It may be necessary to utilize temporary traffic signals to remove and replace some of the traffic signal shafts. Will NDOT consider adding a bid item for furnishing temporary traffic signals? |
| Answer: The contract does not require installation of a temporary traffic signal for traffic signal removal unless specifically shown in the plans or required by the approved Traffic Control Plan.
Per Section 623.01.06 Maintaining Existing and Temporary Electrical Systems of the Standard Specifications. "If modifying an existing system, consider work not shown on the plans or specified in the Special Provisions and necessary to keep all or any part of the existing system in effective operation as included in the prices paid for the systems, or bid items, with no additional compensation."
Per Section 624.03.01 General of the Standard Specifications: "Bear all expense of maintaining the roadway over the section of road undergoing improvement and of constructing and maintaining such approaches, crossings, intersections, and other features as may be necessary, without direct compensation, except as provided in Subsection 107.15." |
