| Question: On sheet T05 of the plans, it specifies that the conduit going under the railroad tracks needs to be 15.5 feet below the tracks. However, those tracks have already been paved over and do not seem to be operational. Would it be possible to use the regular depth trench rather than using a bore under the tracks, as this specification would require? |
| Answer: The NNRR tracks on this project are considered active even though they have been paved over and trains cannot run on them currently. The RR anticipates using these tracks in the future. Therefore, the Directional Drilling depths specified on Sheet TO5 will be required. |

| Question: In the estimate of quantities report, there is a quantity of 2241 feet of directional drilling. However, this number appears to take into account the total footage of conduit that is going in the drilling runs. Multiple conduits are going into some of these runs, so it appears that the total footage of the directional drill bid item may be about 1000 feet more than it would actually be. Can you confirm if the quantity of directional drilling is correct? |
| Answer: After reviewing the conduit run schedules, the calculated quantity for directional drilling is incorrect. This will be addressed in an addendum. |

| Question: In the project specification 402.02.02 Recycled Asphalt Pavement.
The last sentence reads. "If utilizing RAP, furnish samples of asphalt cement, aggregates, and RAP not less than 30 working days before starting paving operations."
Will this be required for this project? If we can only run traffic on a milled surface for 48 hours, would this not prohibit the use of RAP from the project? |
| Answer: The specifications do not mandate, but allow the use of RAP when producing plantmix for the contract. The awarded contractor can submit for approval at the specified percentages in section 402.02.02 of the standard specifications. |
