Question: Clarification regarding the intent of Bid Item 6270022 "Permanent Overhead Sign Panel, Reconstruct," as referenced in Note 11 on Plan Sheet TS70. Note 11 states that overhead sign replacement includes the cost of "modifying an existing sign panel frame and manufacturing new sign panel frame, sign struts, mounting brackets, mounting hardware, and any other related work necessary to retrofit the existing sign structure and panel frame." The specification appears to include both modification of existing frames and fabrication of new frames within the same bid item. This language creates ambiguity as to whether the Contractor is permitted to reuse existing sign panel frames on this project. Please confirm the following: 1. Is the Contractor permitted to reuse existing sign panel frames under Bid Item 6270022, provided the frames can be modified (if necessary) to meet the project requirements and structural intent? 2. Or, does NDOT require full replacement of the sign panel frames?

Question: Concerning Bid item 623 3016, Sheet 16 directs installation of (2) AVC Turnkey Systems. The Invitation to Bid as well as the General Notes on the B Sheets refer to the 2022 Standards Plans for Road and Bridge Construction; however, AVC systems were eliminated after the 2017 Standard Plans. Please confirm the 2022 standards are being used on this project, and, if so, whether this bid item should be removed.

Question: Concerning Bid Item 623 0207, the bid item description is “LOCK”. Please clarify if NDOT intends for this bid item to cover only payment for the Cyberlock Padlocks as outlined in Section 623.03.22 on Page 90 of the Special Provisions or if it also includes the locking devices for pullbox lids.

Question: Concerning Bid Item 623 2665, we were unable to locate this bid item on the plans. The Pull Box Schedule on Sheet T28 mentions pulling cables back to pull box (06a) for re-routing, but pull box 06a is not shown on the plans. Additionally, the Structure List on Sheet ITS16a only shows 75LF on one Sheet for this bid item but the total on the Structure List shows 1,714 lf on Sheet ITS 17a. Please advise what cables are being relocated, where, and revise the Bid Item Quantity if necessary.

Question: Concerning bid item 623 0345, lighting construction notes 21 and 24 on the LT sheets relating to underdeck luminaires both refer to the lighting luminaire schedule to determine quantities and types of underdeck luminaires. The quantity of Type B and Type C underdeck luminaires from the schedule match their bid item quantity, but for Type A the bid item quantity is 36 but the schedule only shows 10. Please confirm this bid item quantity should be reduced.
