Project Title:
Aerial Photo, Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Services
Background:
The DEPARTMENT is requesting proposals to provide aerial survey photography, aerial Light Detention and Ranging (LiDAR), and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) services throughout the state of Nevada at various times throughout the year. The consultant shall acquire four (4)-band aerial photography (Blue, Green, Red, and Near-Infrared) of the requested project areas. Most of the projects will be along roads and may vary from less than one (1) mile to more than fifty (50) miles in length.
Project Scope:
The services include aerial photography for transportation planning, mapping, and engineering design.
Project Schedule:
Approximately four years from the date that the agreement is executed.

Question: Regarding the LIDAR requirements, could you please provide more information on the Department’s expectations for waveform data? Specifically, we would like to understand the intended purpose and level of detail required for this data.
Answer: Airborne LiDAR will be utilized for engineering mapping, following the standards established by the ASPRS. The point densities will be 10 points per square meter (with a vertical RMSE of 10 cm) for bare earth and 20 points per square meter (with a vertical RMSE of 20 cm) for vegetated areas. The horizontal accuracy will meet or exceed an RMSE of 20 cm. A fully classified point cloud will be delivered in LAS format 1.4 or higher.
